Inspired by our love of hockey, the CP Puck Drop is a unique way to control overtones.
 
This 5-ounce, rubber puck dampener is a simple and effective way to control overtones.  The leather strap has 2 super strong Rare Earth magnets*, rated for 26 lbs of straight pulling force.  The strong magnets give you the security of knowing
your dampener will stay where you put it, unlike using your wallet which can bounce off at the most inconvenient times.
 
The CP Puck Drop comes with a “figure 8” fastener which attaches between your tension rod and your hoop, like a washer, and acts as the magnet’s base.  The “figure 8” is small enough that it shouldn’t interfere with your drum case.  The use of the “figure 8” allows you to use the Puck Drop whether you have steel or non-steel hoops.  
 
Use it by extending the leather strap of the Puck Drop out to put the dampener closer to the center of your drum for more dampening or pushing the Puck Drop back and securing it to the hoop with the magnet for less dampening.
 
Don’t need overtone control for the next song? Simply hang the Puck Drop off the side of your drum.  The leather strap and strong magnet will keep it in reach until you need it again.
 
*the magnet will also attach directly to steel hoops. If you are not attaching the “Figure 8” to the tension rod, please remove it from the magnet before using it on your drum.
 
Installation and Removal Instructions for your "figure 8" fastener and Puck Drop magnet:
Each Puck Drop comes with a “figure-8” fastener.  While the heavy-duty magnet will stick to your steel hoops, it’s recommended to use the provided “figure-8” for a more secure attachment.
 
To Install:  Place the smaller end of the “figure-8” under your tension rod.  It is suggested to install the “figure-8” around the “11 o’clock” area of your drum so it’s easily reachable while playing. 
 
To Remove: Do not pull the Puck Drop straight up off your drum, SLIDE it to the side off the target/”figure-8”.  Pulling straight off could result in the leather strap stretching.
